Couldn’t be better
We had a wonderful meal and drinks, it couldn't be better, the waitress who told us about the wine did so with great enthusiasm and the wines went wonderfully with the food, it just couldn't be better!
Characteristic buildings
The woodwork in the characteristic buildings has been beautifully renovated and the kitchen focuses even more on organic regional products, without significant price increases: excellent! We enjoy, among other things, deliciously tender, organic tournedos from Texel with cream of baked beetroot, roasted sweet potato, red onion and masala sauce. The wine list offers sufficient variation, the service is cordial and in the summer there is a nice garden terrace by the water.

Courteous, well-trained, young hostesses and hosts will do everything they can to make your visit to restaurant 'De Fortuna' as pleasant as possible. For the vegetarians among you, the team prepares a new three-course menu every day. Special dietary requirements can also be taken into account. And if you come with children, they are also very welcome. Ask about our special options.

The delicious food, the variety in the food and the extras (with drinks, various sandwiches, amuse). The renewal in the menu, the extra seasonal menu (game) and the choice of delicious wines. Everything in good balance with the price. The friendly and informal atmosphere that the staff creates. And last but not least the beautiful ambiance in festive Christmas mood!

The location is very picturesque
The location is very picturesque and very quiet on the water with a very nice view of a small historic shipyard and old Edam. The bedrooms are not large, but furnished with care, very clean. There are fresh flowers everywhere!
Authentic and cozy hotel & restaurant
What an authentic and cozy hotel & restaurant. Had a delicious mustard soup and refueled during our first walking stage of the Waterliniepad!
Lovely terrace
It is really nice that we can use the catering again. I find the location very pleasant and the service hospitable. In the summer it is so nice to sit on the terrace. As soon as the weather permits, we can be found on the terrace.
Very friendly staff
Beautifully located and very special hotel in the heart of Edam. Excellent beds, nicely decorated rooms. In the evening we had a delicious dinner in the very atmospheric restaurant. The breakfast was well taken care of, fitting for a hotel in this price range. Not unimportant, very friendly staff.

The dining room exudes a cosy, homely and old Dutch atmosphere. Overshadowed by old support beams and dominated by a magnificent staircase, you can feast your eyes on paintings, etchings, drawings, etc. by artists who meant a lot to the region, such as Hering, Van Nieuwenhoven, Bleys, Sluyters, Cassiers and Nieuwenkamp.
