The restaurant
Restaurant ‘De Fortuna’ has a varied range of surprising and always appealing meat, fish, poultry and game specialities. All dishes are prepared in a traditional way from the best ingredients that the different seasons offer.
A skilled and extremely creative culinary team, led by Chef Michel Boon, presents you with a completely new menu every 6 to 7 weeks. In addition, an extra three-, four- and five-course menu is published by them every week, in addition to the menu. You can read about both the menu and the current weekly menu via this site.
We have increasingly specialised in regional products and, where possible, organic.

We are a proud member of Euro-Toques Netherlands, an association of professional chefs and restaurateurs who stand for healthy food that is prepared in a traditional way with natural products of good quality, without artificial additives. Offered for a fair price.

Open 7 days a week
Lunch: Daily from 12:00 to 15:00
Dinner: Daily from 18:00
For drinks, pastries and various snacks you can visit us daily from 11:00 to 17:30.
And if you have to wait for your table or if you want to have a nightcap after your dinner, you can always visit our intimate bar. As soon as the weather gods allow it, you can also dine in our beautiful terrace garden.
Our terrace
Restaurant ‘De Fortuna’ has a beautiful, flowery terrace garden. On nice days, 80 to 100 guests can be seated here. Our terrace is located directly on the water of the beautiful ‘Boerenverdriet’. While you are sitting on the terrace, you can watch the pleasure boats sail by and wave to the passengers if necessary.
We offer a wide range of delicious, refreshing summer drinks, such as fruit juices, wines and beers and possibly something stronger. We also have a wide range of snacks.
Of course, depending on the weather conditions, you can have lunch and dinner outside. We wish you a pleasant stay at the most beautiful spot in Edam!
